Penny has worked in children's publishing for 25 years for publishers Walker Books in the UK and Candlewick Press in the US and as an agent with the Caroline Sheldon Literary Agency. She founded Holroyde Cartey Limited in 2015 with Claire Cartey, a former art director who has also worked in publishing for 25 years.
