Denise Baden

Denise followed her first degree in Politics with Economics, with several years in industry, then returned to academia to do a doctorate in psychology. She now teaches and researches in the area of sustainability, social responsibility and business ethics.  Much of her research has explored the most effective ways to enable more sustainable behaviour, and she has advised organisations in diverse fields such as constructive journalism, criminal justice, film scripts and business ethics education.

In 2018 Denise launched the free Green Stories writing competitions that challenge writers to embed green solutions in their stories. Human stories are a more effective way to engage people in sustainability issues than dry facts. The aim of the competitions is to raise awareness of sustainability issues, practices, policies and technologies via a story. Through normalising green practices in our stories, we can make a real difference. Previous competitions have included short stories, stage plays, radio plays, TV series, screenplays, children's and adult novels and interactive fiction.
