Niall joined Curtis Brown as an intern in the Translation Rights department and now works alongside Gordon Wise on his phenomenal list of authors, while also working on his own projects and building his own list. When he starts reading something, be it a published book or unsolicited submission, he is looking to be swept up in a narrative and transported somewhere new. He particularly enjoy books that have a strong sense of place and is constantly drawn to novels that have a strong, compelling voice. In fiction, many of his best-loved reads would be considered accessible literary fiction, and he enjoys crime fiction that continually surprises and leaves him desperate to discuss what happened with other readers as soon as he has hit the final page. In non-fiction, he looks for those same brilliant voices, especially when it comes to memoirs and is keen to seek out books that offer new takes on histories he thought he was familiar with.
