Judith is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Winchester where for five years she was also Director of the Winchester Writers’ Festival. A former commissioning editor for Hodder, she has written over 60 books for young readers, mainly non-fiction, as well as Stonecipher, a novel for middle grade readers published by Andersen in 2005. More recently she has focused on fiction for adults and her novel Snegurochka (Salt Publishing, 2019), set in Kiev, has been shortlisted for the ES Travel Writing Awards ‘Fiction with a Sense of Place’. As well as lecturing she runs workshops and offers a mentoring service for emerging writers. She was awarded her doctorate in Creative Arts in 2018 and is currently working on a novel set in upstate New York.
