Ilona Bannister

Ilona grew up on Staten Island and lived in New York City until she married a Brit and moved to London. A dual-qualified US attorney and UK solicitor, Ilona practiced immigration law in the UK before taking a career break to raise her two young sons and unexpectedly found herself writing fiction.  When I Ran Away is her first novel and she is currently working on her second.

Ilona attended the Winchester Writers' Festival two years in a row when she was writing When I Ran Away and found what she learned there to be invaluable in helping pitch to agents, edit her novel, understand social media, and ultimately, put her on the road to publication.
