Ian has been a literary agent at Sheil Land Associates for 13 years. Before that he worked in the magazine business for ten years before joining Collins in 1994. He moved to Cassell in 2000 and soon became publishing director at Weidenfeld & Nicholson. He is also the author of a number of history books, so has seen this business from all sides. Clients include bestselling fantasy writer Mark Lawrence, historical novelist Robert Fabbri, musical historian Andrew Gant, Michael Tippett's biographer Oliver Soden and military historian Peter Hart.
