Hazel  is the author of two novels: Ellie and the Harp Maker and Away with the Penguins. Her debut novel was inspired by her love of music, the Exmoor countryside and quirky characters who find it hard to fit into society. Her second novel was inspired by the adventurous spirit of elderly people she knows and her concerns for the environment. Hazel firmly believes that penguins, with their cheerful resilience amidst the harshest conditions on the planet, are an example to us all. Away with the Penguins was selected for both Richard and Judy's Book Club and BBC Radio 2's Book Club and has become a number-one bestseller in ebook. Hazel is also a freelance Celtic harpist and lives on Exmoor with her husband and a huge ginger cat.
