Looking for: Children’s and adult fiction in all genres, literary fiction and non-fiction
Catherine has worked in publishing for over 30 years in-house at Victor Gollancz, Penguin and Bloomsbury in translation rights. She became a literary scout in 2006 and joined Rogers, Coleridge and White Ltd as a Children's Agent in 2007. Moving to France in 2009, she set up her own agency, Catherine Pellegrino and Associates, which was absorbed by Marjacq Scripts Ltd in 2015 upon her return to London. Most of her writers are children's authors, but she has recently begun representing adult writers in commercial fiction and narrative non-fiction.
In terms of taste, she leans toward literary fiction and recent examples of authors who she represents are Finbar Hawkins, author of Witch ( Zephyr) and T.C. Shelley who wrote the brilliant The Monster Who Wasn't series for Bloomsbury. Having said that, she is happy to be read writing that is original, funny, engaging, diverse, or heart-breaking, no matter what the genre.
