Children's author Candy Gourlay was an early adopter of digital platforms, creating a following with her popular blog Notes from the Slushpile and YouTube work. More than a decade later, she left Facebook after revelations of the platform's fatal negligence in the developing world. She has given presentations on digital opportunity, virtual events and author platforms for Booktrust, Society of Authors, SCBWI and the Bookseller Conference.
Candy's latest novel, Bone Talk, was shortlisted for the Costa Award and the Carnegie Medal. Her other books have been shortlisted for the Guardian Prize, the Waterstones Prize, the Blue Peter and the Branford Boase. Candy is also a committee member of CWIG (Children's Writers and Illustrators Group) of the Society of Authors.
