Angelique is a literary agent at Felicity Bryan Associates, joining the company in March 2021, after moving from the position of commissioning editor at Bloomsbury Publishing, where she worked with authors including George Saunders, Jhumpa Lahiri, Kamila Shamsie, Patti Smith and Reni Eddo-Lodge. Her own list of acquisitions there included Sour Heart by Jenny Zhang, Scotiabank Giller Prize-winner How to Pronounce Knife by Souvankham Thammavongsa, Inferno by Catherine Cho, There’s No Such Thing as an Easy Job by Kikuko Tsumura and Asylum Road by Olivia Sudjic.

In fiction, she is looking for works that strike the heart and intellect in equal measure – fiction that explores the lives of those not often represented in literature, and fresh and unexpected subversions of known narratives. A strong atmosphere, a voice that is bold and unusual, and a critical eye on the myriad ways in which we live, are important. In non-fiction, she is interested in essays and longform narratives that explore the world we live in today, be that through art, literature, politics or philosophy
